Exploring Spring’s Charm at Gilpin Arts Association The opening reception for the Spring Fever Feature Show at Gilpin Arts Association was held on Saturday, April 20 at the Gilpin Arts Association, 117 Eureka Street in Central City.
The show shone a spotlight on three distinct artists: Ala Park, Ted Garcia, and Greg Wigler, each bringing their unique artforms.
Park’s work, meticulously crafted over three decades, captivated viewers with its delicate fusion of fishbone and velvet. With 26 pieces on display, Park’s artistic journey from sourcing bones across the globe to her improvisational process left attendees in awe. Read more

Designer and artist Ala Park was born and raised in the Republic of Moldova, an Eastern European country sandwiched between Romania and Ukraine where she has owned a design firm, and successfully ran all aspects of clients’ needs. Fishbone Artwork
A three-dimensional fishbone artwork on dark velvet backgrounds, displayed in shadow boxes; using only discarded fish bones. This is a completely original art form that I developed on my own in 1994, while living in my native country, the Republic of Moldova. Read more ( Page 11).
